Ooredoo’s Hand-in-Hand campaign a huge success

Ooredoo’s 2017 Ramadan CSR campaign Hand-In-Hand has been one of the company’s most successful ever and included an activity packed Holy Month and Eid Al Fitr, in which the company worked to encourage togetherness and community in Qatar.

With the Hand-In-Hand campaign, which was followed by Ooredoo users and people across Qatar under the #ShareAMoment on social media, Ooredoo visited a number of organisations across Qatar including the Fahad Bin Jassim Kidney Centre, Hamad General Hospital’s Children Ward, and the Qatar Foundation for Elderly Care (IHSAN).
To help share the spirit of togetherness and community, Ooredoo also sponsored several sporting events, visited the Katara Cultural Village Ramadan Cannon, and petrol stations in Doha to distribute Iftar boxes to people to break their fast.
During Eid, to continue this spirit and to highlight the great leadership of Qatar, Ooredoo organised for its iconic HQ1 tower in West Bay to have Qatar’s Flag projected on it, alongside a picture of Emir
H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The company also distributed free T-shirts showing support for the Emir, as painted by local artist Ahmed bin Majed Almaadheed, on the Corniche.
Talking about the initiatives, Manar Khalifa Al Muraikhi, Director PR and Corporate Communications, Ooredoo Qatar, said: “We are delighted that this year’s Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr campaign has had such a positive response and has bonded so many different people across the country together. We’ve given back our customers, helped highlight the amazing work the organisations of Qatar do, and encouraged solidarity and community spirit within our country.”
“Thank you to all the Ooredoo volunteers who helped achieve this and everyone who came to see us and be part of our celebrations,” Manar Khalifa Al Muraikhi added.
Ooredoo has pledged to continue to support its customers throughout the year, with a host of local CSR initiatives.
