Qatar University, QYH to collaborate in community service

Qatar University (QU) yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Qatar Youth Hostels (QYH) to establish collaboration in the field of community service.
The MoU was signed by QU student services and activities director Abdulla al-Yafei and QYH deputy executive director Mohamed Yousef al-Otaibi in the presence of officials from both institutions and QU students.
The terms of the agreement include collaboration between both institutions on the exchange of ideas and experiences on the effective use of their sport venues. Additionally, QU’s students will have discounts on QU’s external programmes in QYH, and QYH will host QU’s student summer programmes and activities.
Other areas of collaboration include the organisation of a joint annual conference that addresses the concept of cultural travel, and various events and activities that serve QU’s students and meet QYH’s objectives.
Al-Yafei said, “This agreement reflects QU’s mission to graduate distinguished and qualified national students who will contribute to building the future of their country. Our collaboration with QYH will add value to the students’ life at the university. It will provide them with opportunities to participate in a wide range of cultural and social activities, which will enrich their culture and experience.”
Al-Otaibi said, “This MoU reflects the strong bonds between academic and social institutions in Qatar. By implementing the terms of the MoU, we are demonstrating our commitment to serve the youth and to foster their relationships with national and international organisations.”
