Qatar Stock Exchange index gains 272.67 points

Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index gained 272.67 points, or 3.04 percent, when the bourse closed trading at 9,237.68 points yesterday.
The volume of shares traded decreased to 15.59 million from 20.91 million on Wednesday and the value of shares increased QR516.93m  from QR493.43m on Wednesday. Of the 44 companies listed on QSE, shares of 41 saw trading yesterday. Of these 35 gained and two companies closed lower, four remained unchanged. Indices of all sectors ended in green yesterday.
QSE Total Return Index gained 3.04 percent  to 15,491.04 points. QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index added 4.65 percent to 3,654.20 points and QSE All Share Index increased 3.16 percent to 2,603.07 points, reports QNA.
When compared on weekly basis, the QSE index lost 701.90 points, or 7.06 percent.
Trading value during last week increased by 84.57 percent to reach QR2.92bn compared to QR1.58bn.
Trading volume increased by 68.87 percent to reach 104.41 million shares, as against 61.83 million shares, while the number of transactions rose by 82.47 percent, to reach 31,011 transactions as compared to 16,995 transactions.
Market cap fell by 6.66 percent to reach QR495.34bn as compared to QR530.70bn at the end of previous week. Banking and Financial Services sector led traded value this week with 50.31 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 12.11 percent. Real Estate sector accounted for 10.19 percent and Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted 9.70 percent.
Banking and Financial Services sector led traded volume this week with 47.11 percent of the total traded volume. Real Estate sector accounted for 17.60 percent.
Telecoms sector accounted for 14.93 percent and Transportation sector accounted 7.86 percent. Banking and Financial Services sector led traded number of transactions this week with 38.81 percent of the total number of transactions. Real Estate sector accounted for 15.64 percent. Consumer Goods and Services sector accounted for 12.15 percent and Industries sector accounted for 11.90 percent.
