Qatar Football Association (QFA) held Saturday at Qatar National Convention Center the QFA awards for the 2016/2017 season, which was concluded yesterday with the final of HH the Emir Cup which saw Al Sadd defeat Al Rayyan 2-1.
South Korea’s Nam Tae Hee picked up the best player award. He edged out fellow players Hassan Haydos and Xavi of Al Sadd to take home the top award. QFA President HE Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani and President of the Union of Arab Football Associations Prince Turki bin Khalid Al Saud handed out the award.
Lekhwiya attacker Almoez Ali has been crowned the best U23 player at QFA awards this evening. The 21 year old winger picked up the award at the QNCC beating Al Gharafa goalkeeper Yusef Hassan and Al Sadd midfielder Salem Al Hajri to the crown.
Meanwhile Lekhwiya striker Yusef El Arabi picked up the prestigious Mansor Muftah award as the top scorer for the 2016/2017 season. He scored 24 goals in only 18 matches for Lekhwiya. Al Sadd head coach Jesualdo Ferreira has been crowned the coach of the year. He won the double with Al Sadd this season. (QNA)
