Minister of Economy and Commerce Takes Part in World Economic Forum in Jordan

HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani took part in the World Economic Forum (WEF) on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), which was opened on Saturday by King Abdullah II of Jordan on Saturday.

On the sideline of the event held under the theme “Empowering Generations into the Future,” HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani met with Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum.

Talks during the meeting dealt with means of enhancing cooperation within WEF along with the most important economic developments in Qatar.

The forum brought together more than 1,100 public and private sector officials as well as political and business leaders from more than 50 countries.

It sheds light on a number of important topics including the effects of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on societies and their economies as well as ways to harness technology to create new jobs, encourage entrepreneurship and stimulate inclusive growth for all segments of society, especially in the highly populated MENA region.
