Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index jumped 252.71 points or 2.88 percent to close at 9,030.44 points yesterday. On the weekly basis, the index lost 227.46 points or 2.46 percent. The volume of shares traded yesterday decreased to 12.5 million from 14.9 million on Wednesday and the value of shares decreased QR361m from QR435.5m on Wednesday.
Out of 44 companies listed on QSE, shares of 41 saw trading yesterday. From these, 39 gained and two companies closed lower. Indices of all sectors ended in the green zone.
QSE Total Return Index gained 2.88 percent to 15,143.51 points. QSE Al Rayan Islamic Index increased 3.04 percent to 3,626.12 points and QSE All Share Index topped 2.98 percent to 2,581.20 points.
Trading value during this week decreased by 21.19 percent to reach QR1.5bn compared to QR1.9bn.
Trading volume decreased by 32.26 percent to reach 55.7 million shares, as against 82 million shares, while the number of transactions fell by 17.02 percent, to reach 17,835 transactions as compared to 21,494 transactions.
Market capitalisation fell by 2.31 percent to reach QR489bn as compared to QR500bn at the end of previous week.
