Turkey praises Qatar’s approach

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu praised the ‘wise and calm manner’ in which Qatar has handled the current crisis.

Cavusoglu said that Qatar did not reciprocate and did not seek to escalate this crisis, but took a wise position praised by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and everyone he spoke with about the current crisis. “All those we spoke to expressed their respect and appreciation of the Qatari position towards this crisis as well as Qatar’s ideal handling of the crisis, for which it earned the respect of all.”

The Turkish Foreign Minister described relations between his country and Qatar as fraternal and excellent. “Qatar is sisterly country and its people are our brothers and our relations are constantly growing,” he said.

He stressed the strong personal relations between the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, describing relations as ideal. Cavusoglu noted that Turkey, under the leadership of Erdogan, is exerting its utmost efforts to find solutions to this crisis, pointing out that his current visit to Doha is in this regard.

He expressed Turkey’s solidarity with Qatar and its keenness to communicate with it and with some GCC countries to find means to overcome this crisis, stressing his country’s keenness on the unity of the GCC countries.
