Ooredoo took part in IBM’s signature event, Watson Qatar Summit, which was held this week in Doha.
In an on-stage interview about cognitive computing, Ooredoo’s talk was about how this technology can transform businesses, explaining that solutions deployed inside Qatar’s public and private sector organisations will soon be enabled to understand, reason, and learn.
Ooredoo also used the Summit’s platform to highlight its Mobile Device Management (MDM) offering that was launched last year. The MDM is a comprehensive solution for total enterprise device management that enables companies to seamlessly manage employee smartphones, tablets and even laptops and employee-owned devices across their entire corporate network.
Powered by IBM MaaS360, the MDM solution offers a range of essential solutions via the cloud, so that employees can access corporate email, calendar, contacts and share documents securely through their device. Companies deploying the system can manage inventory, update policies and configure features via a central portal, giving them more security and control.
This solution also enables businesses to protect data on lost or stolen devices with remote password locks and resets, as well as partial and full data wipes, remote lock and generate reports.
“For each customer in Qatar, we will bring to bear the full weight and expertise of the Ooredoo brand – our people, who are some of the most experienced anywhere in the world; our world-class, continually-improving network; our wide-ranging portfolio of solutions; and, finally, our legacy – or you can say, track record – of excellence in reliably delivering time and again for Qatar’s biggest (and smallest) businesses,” said Yousuf Al Kubaisi, Chief Operating Officer, Ooredoo Qatar, on the sidelines of IBM’s Watson Qatar Summit.
As Qatar’s enterprise class organisations are rapidly growing and demand that their services be scalable, not only in volumes and size, but also in functionality, Ooredoo is making sure to be “out in front” with a rich portfolio of solutions to support their growth and enable them to react to, and meet, their market demands.
“Cognitive computing is surging in customer demand for one simple reason: it aids human decision-making, and that is central to the successful management of any organisation, large or small”, added Al Kubaisi.
Ooredoo believes that the number of use cases involving cognitive computing will continue to grow, and enterprise customers will demand these solutions.
Ooredoo is bringing all those advancements to the businesses and organisations here in Qatar.
