Ministry of Economy Launches Initiative of Price Reductions on Consumer Goods for Ramadan

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce announced the initiative of price reductions on consumer goods within a series of initiatives to mark the holy month of Ramadan under the theme “Aqal_Min_Al_Wajeb”.
The list of the price reductions on consumer goods includes more than 418 items, and will be implemented starting today until the end of the holy month of Ramadan, in coordination with major consumer complexes.
The reduced consumer goods list includes all commodities consumed by the consumer during this holy month, such as flour, sugar, rice, pasta, oil, milk, and other food and non-food items of relative importance to the consumer.
The Ministry is keen to launch such initiatives in order to relieve consumers of any additional costs during this month, where spending on the purchase of food commodities increases by about 25% of the total expenses during the holy month of Ramadan.

The initiatives cover all aspects of the ministry’s activities in terms of organization, partnership and support. These initiatives include the organization of a number of awareness program on various commercial and consumption topics.
The Ministry will also launch several new initiatives aimed at stimulating community partnership such as “Ataa” and the “National Product” initiatives.
Intensified inspections campaigns will be conducted by the ministry before and throughout the holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr.
